Dzeko considering move to Milan

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is a transfer target for Serie A giants AC Milan following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Dzeko's agent.

Ibrahimovic left for Paris St. Germain on Tuesday, leaving AC Milan in need of a replacement world-class striker.

Bosnian international Dzeko found himself behind Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero, and Carlos Tevez in the pecking order at the Etihad at season's end. Manager Roberto Mancini has been linked with even more attacking signings, which would push Dzeko further down the bench at City.

The defending Premier League champions are said to be actively tracking the situation of Arsenal's Robin van Persie, and should he be signed, Dzeko would likely have to head for the exits.

Dzeko's agent, Sead Susic, has said that Milan are interested in bringing Dzeko to the Serie A, and that the player would welcome such a move.

"Edin would love to play in Serie A and with the Rossoneri," the agent said. "A move to AC Milan is more than possible. There have been discussions and they are continuing. Let's see what will happen in the coming days.

"After the departure of Ibrahimovic, Dzeko would be an ideal replacement and it would be a wonderful experience, but we are waiting to see what happens.

"Is there a 70 per cent chance that he ends up at Milan? Maybe."

Dzeko has been at the club since 2011, and has scored 16 goals in that time. The most important of these goals was on the final game of the season, when he scored an equalising header in extra time that would set up teammate Aguero to win the game and the championship four minutes later.
