Hugo Lloris in the news.

It seems that Spurs, Lyon and Hugo Lloris are poised to conclude a deal that will take the French goalkeeping captain to White Hart Lane in a €12m deal in the next few days. It has been thought that both the player and Spurs are eager to conclude the deal, but after the usual haggling and brinkmanship over the fee, how it will structured and what colour shirt Lloris will be expected to play in, a deal looks very likely, and will probably be finalised early next week.

Lyon play Montpellier in the Trophée des Champions at the Red Bull Arena New York, this Saturday, a game which is expected to be the last for Lloris in a Lyon shirt, but once that is complete, the deal is likely to be concluded, though I doubt it will be sorted before Tottenham have completed their own tour of the States..

What this means for the current Spurs keepers is anyones guess. I imagine that Friedel will remain for his final year of his contract, but surely any new keeper will mean the end for Huerelho Gomes and perhaps Carlo Cudicini will join Watford as was rumoured a week or so ago...
