Angelo Ogbonna will be one of the most in demand defenders on the transfer market in the summer and both Liverpool and Manchester United are in the hunt for him, as they look to replace ageing defenders of their own.

The 24 year old looks set to leave current club Torino and join one of Europe's footballing giants, with the two Premier League clubs aforementioned joining Bayern Munich and AC Milan in the chase for the strong centre back.

Ogbonna, who has five caps for the Italian national team, has slowly become one of the most established defenders in the Serie A over the past few seasons and now looks to good for the modest Turin based club.

Sir Alex Ferguson had sent scouts to watch the Italian earlier in the season and may look to move for him in the summer, with the likes of Rio Ferdinand and the injury prone Nemanja Vidic not getting any younger.

Liverpool have also sent representatives of the club to Turin and had scouts in attendance of Torino's draw with Bologna last month. Brendan Rodgers has made a replacement for the retiring Jamie Carragher his number one priority and Ogbonna joins the long list of centre back who ahve been linked with the Reds over the past couple fo weeks.
