Norwich in bid for Snodgrass

George Windsor17 - Jul - 2012

According to Sky Sports, Norwich City have made a new bid for Leeds skipper Robert Snodgrass.

The Canaries tried last summer to bring the Scottish international to Carrow Road, but Leeds rejected their initial offer and subsequent approaches. Even though Norwich have brought in a new manager in Chris Hughton, their interest in the winger remains high.

Now, they have made a new bid for the 24 year old, and it is understood that Norwich have already made two bids for Snodgrass in the last week.

Former Norwich manager Paul Lambert, who is now at Aston Villa, is one of a number of Premier League managers who has confirmed interest in the players. This gives Norwich a huge incentive to try and finish a deal as soon as possible. Much of this interest can be attributed to the fact that Snodgrass is in the final 12 months of his contract, and failed to reach a deal with Leeds over an extension.

Snodgrass has made 168 appearances for Leeds, scoring 35 goals, joining in 2008. He has also made 5 international appearances, scoring one goal.

Norwich City are trying to stay in the Premier League for a second year, after a successful first season following promotion in which they finished 12. They begin their new campaign against Queens Park Rangers, at Carrow Road.
