Come in number 49, your time is up....

So I've read several really good articles about the transfers we could be expecting, but in true fashion, I'm now going to put a bit more of a realistic twist on things and explain why in real circles we shouldn't expect anything.

And the man in the picture is the reason why.

If all Arsenal fans cast their minds back to the days that David Dein was Arsene's 'fixer'. He said he wanted a player and invariably, it was fixed, and the player was sold on how great the club was.

Nowadays I'm far from convinced about the donkey at the helm. I use the term donkey politely.

Who can remember a player ever running down his contract under Dein? Nope? Ok who can remember us selling a player to our biggest rivals under Dein? Nope again, okay. Who can ever remember us negotiating with so many mega rich clubs that we had no pride but to sell?

No again, me either...

So how has Van Persie, Walcott, Nasri, all been allowed to run down their contracts and leave us in a position where we are faced yet again with a transfer window of complete chaos?

For those of you who do not know, Gazidis is actually a Manchester City fan. Now i'm not instigating a conspiracy here but let’s take a look at the list of names who have fled our team for the money bags at the Etihad.

Stuart Taylor, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Kolo Toure and potentially Walcott and many many more. Include to this a list of players who we were interested in, and suddenly joined City despite us appearing to be the only team interested. Kompany, Dzeko, Yaya Toure, do I really need to say any more?

Gazidis clearly doesn't fit into the Arsenal way of thinking, I mean what does he actually do at the club. Arsene worked best with David Dein as Dein took control of the bigger picture whilst Arsene developed and moulded the team he wanted. Success followed, but realistically this season who can honestly say they'd put their house on Arsenal winning a trophy or finishing fourth?

I know I cherish my house and as avid a fan I am, I can't even bet one of my limbs that we will get anything this season.

Looking to the transfer window within this piece, can we realistically expect that 'Special' player in now? What we the fans class as special and what Wengers budget will allow him to stretch to will be interesting. Special could end up being a 7 year old with 'Plenty of potential'.

Gazidis HAS to go. Would any Arsenal fan be pleased with a Spurs fan in Gazidis position? I'm not saying the person has to be an Arsenal fan but at least not supportive of a major rival. So get rid of Gazidis for the sake of the club. Preferably to any other club. Walcott, yeah, sure whatever. He can go as he's been so disappointing ever since we signed him. See Le Grove's latest article to see exactly what I mean. But allowing Van Persie to go, Nasri? It just seems too coincidental that all this has happened since that 'donkey' joined our club.

In Wenger we trust. But when Wenger clearly has his hands tied, who the hell do we trust then? The next few days will show just how serious we are about this season and the clubs future.
