As we advance to the final, it might be the very last chance for our most experienced players to win the trophy. John Terry will sadly be unable to play due to his red card against Barcelona, but other players such as Lampard, Ashley Cole, Petr Cech and Drogba might be seeing this as their last chance to win this trophy.
We will be meeting our opponent a bit amputated in the final now that Terry's out, Cahill possibly injured and Meireles, Ivanovic and Ramires getting that last yellow card to ruin their chances to play the final. David Luiz is on his way back, but what could Chelsea do without Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic and Luiz? Maybe this is the time to shine for the unexperienced, hungry youngsters in our squad?
Two players who will be joining the team for Münich, are Drogba and Torres. Both players have scored vital goals in the games against Barca, where Drogba secured a lead before Camp Nou and Torres removed all hope of advancement for Barca in the last minute.
Two other vital players who both were cornerstones in the triumph against the catalonians, are Super Frankie Lampard and Ramires. The former set up the goal at Stamford and assisted the first at Camp Nou, the latter scored a sensational goal at Camp Nou when he chipped the ball over Valdés. Petr Cech kept Chelsea in the lead throughout the second half before Torres secured it all by scoring a vital goal both for his team and his own confidence. Maybe that goal will open for a comeback from the spaniard?
Now we face Liverpool in both the FA cup final and the league before we get the chance to beat Newcaslte and fight for a fourth or even third place in the league. Tonight, Real Madrid take on Bayern München in the second semi-final where Real got the vital away goal, and bayern got their important win.
